Jim Rogers formed his own company, Rogers Consulting LLC, in early 2007 after retiring from Duke Energy in 2006 with 32+ years of working with the Company’s largest customers. Rogers Consulting, LLC listed clients in regional economic development and trade, public sector growth organizations, community economic development, public and private manufacturing companies and universities in both the United States and Canada. In early 2008, Rogers teamed with long-time associate and friend, Juli Maria to form Creek & Rogers Global Consulting, LLC and expand their offering in new market development, international trade, site selection and inducement negotiation.
Rogers joined Duke Energy in 1974 as an agricultural engineer in the marketing department in Hickory, NC. After a series of promotions including power marketing engineer and industrial power engineer, he was named marketing manager in Spartanburg, SC in 1988 and manager of commercial and industrial power marketing in 1991. In 1994, he was named manager of economic development in Greenville, SC. In 1999, he was named director of economic development for Duke Energy in its South Carolina service area. In that role he was responsible for new and expanding industrial and commercial business recruitment in Duke Energy's South Carolina service territory.
The Franklin, NC native graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological and agricultural engineering. He maintains his registration as a professional engineer in North Carolina.
Rogers is past president of the Utility Economic Development Association (UEDA), an international association of investor-owned utility economic developers. He has served on the boards of several South Carolina organizations dedicated to the growth of the Palmetto State including the Export Consortium, AdvanceSC and the Upstate Alliance (a regional economic development organization). He served as chairman of the board of the EDIS Partnership, developers of decision-making tools for the economic development community, and of the Spartanburg County Economic Development Corporation, a public/private partnership representing the thriving community of Spartanburg in South Carolina’s upstate and as vice-chairman of economic development for the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce. He is a past member of the board of directors of the South Carolina Society of Professional Engineers and past president of the Spartanburg, South Carolina and Hickory, North Carolina chapters.

Juli Maria Creek joined with long-time business associate, James C. Rogers, P.E., in early 2008 to form the partnership of Creek & Rogers Global Consulting, LLC in order to bring their combined 62+ years of business and economic development expertise to a broader group of clients across North America and Europe. Prior to forming Creek & Rogers Global Consulting, LLC, Juli managed her own consulting company, Creek Global, LLC formed in late 2006 after leaving the Spartanburg County Economic Development Corporation with 7+ years in the roles of Director of Marketing and Project Manager. Creek Global, LLC client list included trade organizations, short line railroads, community economic development associations, public universities and both private and publicly traded manufacturers in the United States and Canada.
Creek’s broad business experience prior to forming her own company included corporate positions with IBM/DOE Division (Software Consultant); Milliken & Company (Purchasing, Automotive Exports: Milliken-Japan, Napery & Hospitality Uniform Fabrics Business); New York Times – Herald-Journal Division (Advertising Representative); Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce (Director of Communications); Spartanburg County Economic Development Corporation (Director of Marketing & Project Manager), The Export Consortium (Director of the North American Market Initiative – NAFTA Trade).
Creek is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana (St. Bernard Parish) and a cum laude graduate of Converse College, majoring in English literature and minoring in Philosophy and Religion. She is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
